Welcome, families!

Quincy Jones Elementary School is committed in a partnership between our school and families. We encourage you to get involved in your child's school through the following committees and become a stakeholder in your child's educational endeavors. Thank you for your dedication and support.

English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

  • The English Learner Advisory Committee's (ELAC) mission is to provide an authentic parent voice through engaging in review and generating advice and comment on matters pertinent to English Learner programs to the LAUSD Board of Education and Superintendent, to ensure that the District’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (“LAUSD LCAP”) reflects the input of District parents, a key stakeholder group.

School site council

The School Site Council (SSC) is responsible for developing the Single Plan for Student Achievement. The council is guided by Federal law (Title I), California law (Education Code 52012) and LAUSD policy (BUL-6332.0). The SSC also ensures that the following mandates are met:

  1. The creation of the school-level Title I Parent Involvement Policy

  2. The creation of the Title I School-Parent Compact

  3. The development of the Title I parent involvement budget

  4. The proposed expenditures of all categorical funds

  5. The development of the comprehensive school safety plan

Members of the SSC include:

  • Parents

  • (Classified) Staff members

  • Teachers

  • Administrators
