Mx. Smith (they, them)

My name is Ronnie Smith. I was born and raised in San Pedro, California and I have attended LAUSD schools from Kindergarten through High School. My post-secondary education includes gaining a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Political Science at the University of California at Berkeley, as well as gaining a Master’s Degree of Education at the University of California at Los Angeles. I am highly passionate about elementary education, and I am especially interested in developing practices that promote literacy for all students. I consider myself lucky to be able to work alongside families, children and administration within the same system that I was educated in not so long ago. My goal as an educator is to foster a positive environment where children feel safe, validated, and supported in order to reach the goals that themselves and their close ones have in mind.
