Ms. Monarrez

Hi, my name is Ofelia Monarrez, I was born and raised in Culiacan, Sinaloa. I am the six daughter of a family of 10. I grew up on a large farm, so I had a very happy life surrounded by many animals. On my first day of school, my father took me to school on a pony. Growing up, I had a lot of friends that I still visit when I go back home. I came here in 1986 as an international student. I became a teacher because I love to teach and I still enjoy teaching very much. Teaching for me is my life. I have been teaching for 24 years. On my time off, I love to garden and travel. I have visited many places in Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, and here in America. I have two daughters and 2 grandchildren. My husband is also a teacher and one of my daughters wants to become a teacher, too.

I have a bilingual credential and a bachelor degree in Social Work and Child Development.
