Mr. Shahabi, Grade 2/3 combo
Hello Esteemed Parents and Community Members,
My name is Karim Shahabi, and I teach 3rd grade here at Quincy Jones Elementary School. Let me share some things about me:
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Economics and in Geography from the University of California at Los Angeles, (UCLA). I earned my Teaching Credential from the California State University at Dominguez Hills, (CSDH). I am also a National Board Certified Teacher, (NBCT), a challenging accomplishment of which I am very proud. I have been teaching for a total of 24 fulfilling years in the 2nd,3rd, and 4th grades. What I love most about teaching is fostering, and then noticing, the academic growth that takes place in my students during the entire school year, from the very first day in August to the very last day in June.
Regarding my non-teaching life, I have served with pride in the United States Army Reserve, (USAR). My favorite pastimes are traveling with my family around the world to interesting places and trying foods of different cultures. I am also an avid reader of books on the topics of economics, finance, and taxes. (These three subjects are passions of mine, so please feel free to ask me any questions that you may have in these areas.)
